Yadukula Kirtan Mela – Shahdara

Yadukula Kirtan Mela – Shahdara

Just like the spiritual master awakens the dormant love in the hearts of the devotees, similarly, He awakens the love for Krishna in their living by installing life into deities.

Another such life changing event occurred on the 26th January’18 where Sri Sri Nitai- Nadia Vihari were welcomed into hearts and lives of many, by the mercy of Srila Gurudev

Yadukula under the guidance of HH Kratu Das ji Maharaj got the oportunity to  perform the all auspicious continuous 9 hour Harinaam Kirtan for the welcome and the pleasure of the Lord’s. The preparations started weeks ago where all volunteers enthusiastically came together to welcome their lordships in the most magnificient and spectacular way. All devotees got to witness the most beautiful abhishek of Sri Sri Nitai Nadia Vihari, along with the blissful chanting and hyms of “Govindam adi purusam”. Devotees were served with sumptuous prasadam for the whole day, as the kirtan hall kept receiving more and more participants for inviting Sri Harinaam Prabhu with their melodious and soulful kirtanas

The day ended with lots and lots of dancing, where Srila Gurudev himself brought all devotees together to dance for the pleasure of the lord.

Sri Sri Nitai-Nadia Vihari ki jai!

Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra – 2018

Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra – 2018

When the pangs of loving separation touch it’s crest, even the Lord of the Universe become a puppet in the hands of His lovers. Becoming blind to all the impediments, He walks. Walks with such majesty and reverence, that the world comes out on the streets to become an attestant to such amorous exchanges.

This Lord of the Universe, Sri Jagannath becomes the cause and means to deliver all of these attendants who sing and dance in His glory.

This is the Maha Jagannath Rath Yatra.

By the auspicious blessings and presence of HH Kratu Maharaj, the yearly Rath Yatra was organised in Ashok Vihar on 14th January’18. With over a 500 people participating in the Yatra by various means, this day gave celestial bliss to all who became a part of it and even the one who got an opportunity to be an onlooker. The Yatra commenced with some ambrosial words from the lotus mouth of HH Kratu Maharaj in the glory of Sri Rath Yatra, making all the dancing and singing more meaningful. Continuous Harinaam Kirtan and dancing embellished the Mahotsava. The Yatra terminated with some more euphoric kirtana, Jagannath ashtakam and bhajans by HG Deenanayak prabhu.

Illimitable Prasadam maintained Sri Jagannath-Sri Baldev and Subhadra Maharani’s image of being the all-provider.

All glories to the most loving Lord!

All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

New Temple Opening in Aligarh

New Temple Opening in Aligarh

From Aligarh to ‘Hari’garh!

From West Virginia to New Vrindavan; Lord Krishna has spread His causeless mercy through Srila Prabhupada in every part of His creation. Now, it was time for Aligarh to become Harigarh.

Lord Sri Hari sent His representative, HH Kratu Das ji Das Ji Maharaj to carry out this most auspicious task and materialize or better so spiritualise the words of Lord Chaitanya and Srila Prabhupada who prophesied the existence of Krishna’s temple with the echoes of Harinaam in every town and village of the world.

Dayalu-Shyam also decided to make another elevated soul a part of these divine arrangements by making him the medium through which ISKCON got the land for the construction of its temple. This divine personality is, Dr. Varshney who had a deep desire just like Srila Prabhupada to make this temple a centre of Vedic education, especially Bhagwad-Gita, for all, hence giving the temple its name ‘Gita Gyan Mandir’.

After the Bhumi Pujan on 13th November, 2015 in the presence of HH Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj, HH Navyogendra Swami Maharaj and HH Kratu Das ji Das ji Maharaj Himself, the temple saw its opening in its first phase on 30th November, 2017. The preparations for this day had begun almost a year ago when HH Kratu Das ji Maharaj had fixed the date for this divine occasion to take place on the most auspicious day of Mokshda Ekadashi, Sri Gita Jayanti. As planned by HH Kratu Das ji Das ji Maharaj and His disciples, the day witnessed an attendance of almost 10, 000 devotees from Aligarh, Delhi and Vrindavan. A Gita yajna set up in 13 Yajna sthalis was performed with the recitation of all shlokas of Sri Bhagwad Gita by Gurukul students from ISKCON Vrindavan. The most awaited installation of the deity of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada followed by Sri Krishna and Arjuna in their one- of- a- kind rare darshan took place in the temple hall. There was a 12 hour kirtan performed by HH Kratu Das ji Das ji Maharaj’s disciples and many other visiting devotees in the temple hall.  A Bhagwad Gita katha by Maharaj’s disciples on the entire Bhagwad Gita was steady in the lawns followed by some beautiful cultural performances by Maharaj’s youth club, IYF C2C.

This day became more glorious with the presence of two more disciples of Srila Prabhupada- HH Deena Bandhu prabhu and HG Dadhi Bhaksha prabhu . Some other great personalities like HH Bhaktianugraha Janardana Swami Maharaj from Vrindavan, HG Mohan Rupa prabhu- President of ISKCON New Delhi, HG Krishna Bhakta prabhu- President of ISKCON Noida also graced this event.

Continuous ekadashi prasadam was served the entire day to all the devotees visiting the temple.  __ commented “The programme was very well organized and managed”. Another devotee from Peru who was attending the programme also added that the arrangements were fulfilling and the prasadam was delicious. He also commented that he has never had such beautiful darshan of Krishna Arjuna.

It was a joyous day for HG Rasraj prabhu, the president of ISKCON Aligarh who had been working very hard for years to make this event a grand success.

Why and how to perform the Shradh Ceremony?

Why and how to perform the Shradh Ceremony?

In Srimad Bhagvatam, it is mentioned that
“Devarṣi-bhūtāpta-nṛṇāṁ pitṝṇāṁ
na kiṅkaro nāyam ṛṇī ca rājan
sarvātmanā yaḥ śaraṇaṁ śaraṇyaṁ
gato mukundaṁ parihṛtya kartam” (SB 11.5.41)
Every human being is obliged and has an obligation? We are under whose obligation? Demigods – Sun God, He gives us heat and light; moon nourishes our eatables and like that Indra, Chandra, Surya, Brihaspati, they all are demigods and are supplying. They are supplying and they don’t send bill for what they are supplying so we are indebted to them.
We are obliged to cow and ox. Ox is tilting the ground and cow is giving us milk, butter, butter milk, ghee, etc. Mother Cow is nurturing us so we are under obligation to cow and ox.
We are indebted to our forefathers also. Why? because they not only brought us to this human form of life which is very rare and valuable but also nourished us, nurtured us. They provided us food, clothing and education so we are indebted to them.
Those who are cent percent surrendered and are serving Krishna, they are not under any obligation of “devarṣi-bhūtāpta-nṛṇāṁ pitṝṇāṁ na kiṅkaro nāyam ṛṇī ca rājan”. Why? Because they are surrendered and are serving Krishna. “Sarvātmanā”, the king is dependent on Krishna, demigods are dependent on Krishna and everybody else. Just by supplying food to the stomach, we automatically nourish our hands, nose, ear, whole body so simultaneously, serving Krishna, “sarvātmanā yaḥ śaraṇaṁ śaraṇyaṁ”, by surrendering to Krishna we pay up our debt.
Why perform Shradh Ceremony?
So that we can relieve our ancestors from the hellish conditions, suffering condition.
If we are not cent percent surrendered to Krishna then we must perform Shradh. Lord Ramchandra did, he performed for Dashrath Maharaj, pinda daan. There was no question of Dashrath Maharaj going to hellish conditions because Lord Ramchandra was his direct son. It is the greatest fortune to have Krishna as your son, God as your son, Dashrath Maharaj will never suffer from hellish conditions, go to hell, even then Lord Ramchandra performed shradh. Lord Chaitanya is God himself, he also went to Gaya to perform Shradh Ceremony for his departed father, Jagannath Misra. So if we are not cent percent surrendered then we must perform Shradh Ceremony to pay up our debt to our forefathers, to relieve them from their hellish conditions.
How to perform Shradh?
It is stated in Srimad Bhagvatam that one must call pure brahman and perform the ceremony. One must cook sumptuous, beautiful, tasty, rich prasadam and that one has to offer to Lord Vishnu. This is written in Srimad Bhagvatam that first one must offer it Krishna, Vishnu, Ram, Narayan, Laxman and then one must offer to the Brahmans. When Advaita Acharya performed Shradh Ceremony of his father, first, he offered to a vaishnava, not even brahmans and Srila Haridasa Thakur was the most exalted vaishnava present there; He was a Muslim, he was not within varnashrama even, not even a brahman but a pure vaishnava. After offering to the Lord, one must offer to the vaishnavas, then one must offer to brahmans and then to one’s relatives, after that one is supposed to offer to people in general, beggars and after everything is over, one is supposed to honour that prasadam and give dakshina to brahmans, vaishnavas, the best donation is to vaishnavas. One should do it with faith and that will relieve one’s ancestors from the pangs of maya, suffering.
